Welcome to Issue One!

Dear Quilting Friends,

Can you believe it? After dreaming, planning, stitching (and unpicking a few seams along the way), we’re absolutely thrilled to bring you the very first issue of Press Quilt!

This magazine was made with you in mind, the quilters who stay up too late finishing “just one more block,” who organize fabric by color and by theme, and who understand the joy of finding that one perfect backing fabric. (You know who you are.)

Our hope is that this feels less like a publication and more like a gathering. One where you’re surrounded by fellow makers who speak your language (and won’t judge how many WIPs, works in progress, you have). And gatherings are always better when more friends pull up a chair, so don’t keep Press Quilt a secret, pass it along like a chain-pieced block and invite your quilting circle to join in the fun. They can subscribe anytime at www.pressquilt.com, so they won’t miss a stitch.

Each issue will be packed with inspiration, useful tips, and stories from the heart of our quilting community. In this first issue, we’re diving into what to expect at your very first quilt retreat. Let’s be honest, it’s equal parts stitching, snacking, and staying up way too late laughing with people you just met. We’re also sharing a couple of patterns, a look into how Julie Letvin from Me and My Stitches started her fabric designing journey and a few surprises that we hope bring a smile to your face, and maybe a new idea to your cutting mat.

Thank you for being here at the beginning. We can’t wait to grow with you, quilt with you, and maybe even cry over the occasional crooked seam together.

Here’s to full bobbins, fearless piecing, and friends who understand why we need just one more fat quarter.

With gratitude (and a little thread stuck to my sleeve),
