The Momentum is Building

Dear Quilting Friends,

When we launched the very first issue of Press Quilt, we hoped it would find its way into the hands of quilters who love quilting as much as we do. What we didn’t expect was just how quickly the excitement would spread. The messages, subscriptions, kind words, and encouragement that poured in after the first issue reminded us exactly why we started this publication in the first place, because quilting is so much more than fabric and thread. It’s about community.

Seeing quilters share Press Quilt with their friends, guild members, retreat buddies, and sewing circles has been incredibly special. This magazine was created for the quilters, storytellers, late-night stitchers, pattern designers, fabric hoarders, and everyone who finds comfort and creativity behind a sewing machine. Whether you’ve been quilting for decades or are just learning how to perfect your quarter-inch seam, you belong here.

In this issue, we’re continuing to celebrate the people who make the quilting world so inspiring. You’ll read the story of fabric designer, Sue Penn, and the creative path that led her into the world of quilting and fabric design. We’re also sharing the remarkable journey of Eleanor Burns from Quilt in a Day, whose story proves that sometimes the smallest opportunities can turn into something truly extraordinary.
Alongside those stories, you’ll find inspiration, creativity, and ideas to take back to your own sewing room. Our hope is that every issue of Press Quilt feels like sitting around the table with fellow quilters who simply “get it,” the excitement of a new project, the satisfaction of the final binding stitch, and yes, the ever-growing pile of fabric we insist we still have room for.

Thank you for welcoming Press Quilt into your quilting lives so warmly. We are only on the second issue, but already this feels like something bigger than a magazine. It feels like a quilting circle that keeps growing.

Here’s to creative mornings, messy cutting mats, full bobbins, and the kind of friendships that are built one quilt at a time.
With gratitude (and probably fabric scraps on my floor),
